Resolved Question: Ok, no this is my LAST question on fish?
Ok, i want the Hagen Elite Style 35 Litre Goldfish Aquarium, from Pets At Home, i visited their shop this morning and they show bettas in the tanks and they're swimming about with the other fish, but they dont sell them THEMSELVES....
what fish can i keep in my tank, and the fish tank i am getting is for goldfish! BUT, if i got a heater- thermostat , could i THEN keep tropical freshwater fiush in it?
:S
haaa,
or does anyone know if pets at home sell a tropical version on that tank, saving me the bother of buying a separate heater-thermostat.
Thanks guys.
THIS IS MY LAST FISH QUESTION
Lol
Resolved Question: don't you feel sorry for goldfish?
everyone buys them as a first fish and is under the delusion that they can be kept in tiny aquariums. and then by the time they get a bigger aquarium they've moved on to freshwater or saltwater aquariums so goldfish are like doomed to be treated badly. except for the lucky few or the ones that are put into ponds. anyways i have a 55 gallon tank and i've had freshwater but i've moved on to considering saltwater, but now i;ve decided to wait and just get goldfish. so how many comet can i put in there, or if i decide to get fancy goldfish how many should i put, its either one or the other. and im having them go up to their adult size. i don't want to give any away so yeah. don't you feel glad for this goldfish or goldfishes that are lucky, which store should i rescue them from? also im going to take pictures every week and document its growth and prove to all the people who think they can keep them in tiny aquarium can't :) thanks for the help
Resolved Question: Green Spotted Puffer and Figure-8 Puffer?
Hello, im thinking about buying 2 puffer fish, and before i get them, i want to know everything i can so that they can live their full life expectancy.
I do know they have to be kept in a brackish environment, but the aquarium i currently have says it is a freshwater only aquarium, so is it still okay to have a brackish environment since its not a completely saltwater?
Anything else about these fish would be much appreciated
Thanks

Resolved Question: Why are my Amazon sword plants becoming transparent and brown?
I have a 55 gal. freshwater aquarium and I just bought 4 amazon swords and 4 ruffled amazon swords. In about three days I started to notice they were becoming brown and transparent. I kept observing them and it kept getting worse. I looked it up at came kept coming across the statement that my plants were just getting used to my water, I also saw that some people said that it could be a pleco. My PH is around 7.0, and a have absolutely no ammonia. Here are a list of fish that I keep in my aquarium:
-1 yoyo loach
-1 rainbow shark
-1 whisker shrimp
-1 freshwater flounder
-6 lemon tetra
-1 bristle nose pleco
-1 royal farowella
-6 zebra danio
-1 chinese algae eater
-1 upside down catfish
Hope you guys can help.
-Thanks
Resolved Question: What size fish tank should I get?
I'm looking to buy a freshwater aquarium. I want about 5 normal sized fish (One Fighter Fish for sure.. not sure about the other ones... any ideas? I want them to be bright and pretty) and a school or two of some bright ones, like tetras, or something (-also, have any ideas for this kind? One or two bright coloured schools of tiny fish that would go with bigger ones?)
What size tank would I need for that number of fish, and do you reccomend certain - but pretty and bright - fish for a begginer?
Thanks a lot!
Resolved Question: 29 Gallon Tank For Just 2 Clownfish?
Hey all! I've been doing freshwater for quite some time and I had recently set up a 29 gallon cichlid aquarium with the intention of putting some Leptosoma cichlid fry in but WHOOPS! They turned purple and died. They looked kind of funny in the bag but oh well, thats what I get for buying at an auction.
Anyways it has florida crushed coral as substrate but depending on the advice I get I can switch that out for some inert sand.
It still has water in it at the moment so do I need to disect it and wash everything or what?
I have a heater & an HOB filter (aquaclear 30).
I don't wish to keep live rock, but if it would benefit me to then of course I will.
All I wish to keep is 2 clownfish just to keep it simple. If there is another equally hardy fish that you could reccomend that'd be great! But I just want a light bioload and nothing too complex.
So basically:
1) do I *need* a protein skimmer?
2) do I need to get some live sand?
3) how do I convert from fresh to salt?
4) did I forget anything?
I realise this question is something of a tall order, so thanks SO much!
