biozyme for freshwater aquariums Q & A

Resolved Question: Whats the best way to switch my 12 gallon nano cube to a 29 gallon bio cube.?
I have a 12 gallon nano cube thats been sitting for about 3 weeks. I have live rock, a shrimp, a damsel, 2 turbo snails, and about 9 or 10 hermit crabs. I wanted to go bigger so i found a deal on a 29 gallon bio cube for about the same price. What is a must before i transfer everything over... I've already filled my biocube with water... let it sit over night to dechlorinate... mixed my salt and added gravel. I've also been adding Biozyme everyday for a week to kick start bacteria growth. I don't even have a filter or anything for the biocube thou. I was thinking about adding some more live rock in the refugeium. so i could add maybe a dwarf lion fish and give him enough room to swim around with some good small hiding spaces. I've also heard bioballs are only good for collecting nitrates so is that true or false and would those do the same thing as building good bacteria levels. Thanks so much

Resolved Question: How can I lower the nitrite levels in my fish tank?
I've had my 10 gallon aquarium for 3 months, and I currently have one molly in it. I used to have three, but two died, and I would like to get mine some friends, but the nitrite levels in my tank are too high. I've been adding "Biozyme" to the tank for almost four weeks now. The package and the guy in the pet store said it should work within a week, but it hasn't yet. They've just told me to keep adding it. But I have to leave my dorm room on Thursday for a month and I won't be able to come to take care of my fish. I bought an automatic feeder, but I won't be able to add the "biozyme." What else can I do for my tank? I realize I may have to wait until I get back in mid January. Thanks! I have a filter and I have been doing small water changes. The people at the pet store said I shouldn't change too much of the water because there is not enough bacteria in the water (That is what the Biozyme is).

Resolved Question: nitrite levels....PLEASE help....?
I just started a 150 gallon saltwater tank, I purchased some Damselfish they seemed to be doing ok that night, although the next moring they had died. I went to the pet store where I had them test my water, and my nitrites were too high, so I purchased "prime" to get it to lower, but yet still hasnt, I have also done water changes, and also just got some"biozyme" to try to help. I also have a bunch of brown like algae growing ON my live rock, and other rocks and all over the bottom ontop of my sand. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? What else can/or should I do to get the nitrite levels down, they are at about 1.0 right now, my nitrates are at 20, Ammonia is at about 0-.25 an the PH is at 8.4. If anyone knows what it sounds like I may be doing wrong or what I need to be doing, PLEASE contact me and let me know, I have heard so many different things from different people I'm kinda at a loss right now. PLEASE HELP!!! Thank You!!

Resolved Question: freshwater biozyme for fish, what is it!?

Resolved Question: Something is wrong with my two new gouramis!?
I have a 29g aquarium that has been set up for months. I gave my tanks 4 months to cycle because I didn't want to risk anything. I slowly added plants and then let a little algea build up just to help cycle. I got 2 chines algea eaters that went to work straight away. After having the algea eaters for a week I added 3 mollies and 3 platies. All of these fish are doing great. Like I said this tank has cycled for months before adding fish. After another week with the mollies and platies I decided to buy 2 gouramis. I put them in the tank yesterday and now the gouramis act like they are dying. All my other fish are doing great. But now the water is cloudy and I'm not sure why. All my tests have come back good except for alkalinity which was a little high. I've put in more water conditioner, biozyme( to help with the cycling), and even an ammonia neutralizing tablet. I just don't understand why my two new fish are doing so poorly when all my others are great. What is happening. I don't understand why a tank that has been up and running for months is killing my 2 new gouramis and is now cloudy. HELP!
