Resolved Question: How many angelfish can fit in a 110 gallon tall aquarium?
Can anyone who knows about freshwater angelfish recommend how many angels I can stock into a 110-gallon "tall?" Just setting this big boy up, need to get it ready and start cycling it first, so the animals are a ways off - but when it's up and running I'm envisioning a planted "angel tank." Probably do some cories, pleco, and "durable" tetras as well - but all that's going to be secondary to angels as the main focus of the environment. I know pairs in spawning always become an issue - would I have room for multiple pairs in a tank this size with relatively few foreseeable problems? I ask that with a grain of salt, of course. Thanks. - Chris Thanks for all the informative help so far, folks. I should clarify - I was thinking about a bristlenose pleco, or something of that "dwarf" pleco variety, not a common pleco. Are bristlenose okay, or are they probably not a good option either? I've heard of adult angels eating otocinclus before, and I'll need something for algae control. Thanks again. :)
Resolved Question: Should I start a saltwater aquarium in my 30 gallon?
I have a 30 gallon freshwater right now. One of my favourite fish died and now I am thinking of starting a saltwater tank. I have always loved and wanted a saltwater tank. I have just heard that they are very time-consuming and expensive. From the people who have them, is this completely true? If so, how much time and money? I love SW fish. Freshwater fish just aren't as exotic as I like. Tetras and goldfish are boring to me. I know that I can get anything from shrimp and snails to lionfish in a SW tank (not in my 30, of course). I hate to be cliché and it has nothing to do with Finding Nemo, but I love clownfish, both the orange and the black ones. I also love anemoenes [sic]. my ideal tank would be a live rock with anemoenes [sic] and clownfish. I can also put other things in there, maybe, but I will have to learn what is compatable. I can't think of anything more rewarding than a beautiful SW tank that I can watch and show others. I don't wanna have to spend $50 a month on one but I can maintain it. Only from people who have or had a SW tank, what all do I need to set up and maintain a tank of that size? Could I get a rough estimate on how much each item I would need is. I have tried looking it up but there are so many different sites saying different things. There is only 1 pet shop that carries SW fish and I just went the other day. I haven't heard too much info from others, other than "its expensive and its really hard and takes a lot of time." On a side note, I am a full-time student and I do not work. I am usually home most of the week since class is only Monday and Wednesday morning and Tuesday nights. I do live close to Panama City Beach. I like snorkeling. I usually go around the jetties at St. Andrew's and see some beautiful fish. Has anyone ever caught something and put it in their SW tank? Does it work? I wouldn't mind grabbing an urchin (carefully) or a small tropical fish. On the same note, I LOVE jellyfish! One of GOD's coolest animals, to me. Small jellies are common near PCB. Has anyone ever had jellies in their tank? Would that even work? I would love to have a few very small jellyfish inside of a tank with some other creatures that can live with them. Any advice would be perfect. Just do me a favour and stick to the questions. I hate it when people critique my choice of fish. If it can't work, it can't. Thank you, in advance. *best answer gets 10 points, if you care about that stuff*
Resolved Question: Weird pets for my aquarium???
I just bought a 2.5 gallon tank and was wondering what are some creative types of creatures to place in it...anything but fish. Resolved Question: Which animals can go in a freshwater aquarium/paludarium (heated?)?

Resolved Question: Freshwater Aquarium Needs Unique Animals?
I have kept fish all my life, and am very skilled in aquarium maintenence and upkeep. Ok, the reason I said that was not to boast at all, but to ask for what unique freshwater animals I can put in my new 10gallon tank. I have already set it up, and gotten the water treated and running for 5 days, and I am now ready to populate the tank. Again, I said what I said so that you would not hold back with your suggestions. I am not a soccer mom who got this for her kid and is going to kill all the fish because she doesnt know what she is doing. I know what I am doing and want to break of of the norm and not just do fish only. Right now the tank has water in it, two live plans, pepple rocks, and a filter - that's it. So what do you suggest...or should I go saltwater and get some REALLY cool stuff? (I have never had a saltware tank before though) The filter I have can cycle 50 gallons an hour. My tank has been cycled like over 100 times already. What do you mean it hasnt been cycled yet? Y both recommend frogs? I thought they were nasty - cloud up the water faster and all. Especially newts, arent newts dirtier than normal aquatic life? I am already using a 10gal tank - keeping the water clear will be hard enough. I already treated the water for a 10gallon amount with the all in one slime coat/chlorine remover. How much longer do I need to leave it filtering if 5 days isnt enough yet? Is there anything else I need to do/add to it? 5 days is always what I have done in the past, and I rarely had fish die.
